Two Month Checkup

Amelia had her two month checkup yesterday. Aunt Crystal was supposed to come with me and Amelia for moral support but she was just too busy tying up loose ends at work before her big vacation!

Here are Amelia's "stats":

Height: 23 1/4 inches (75th percentile)
Weight: 13 pounds (90th percentile).

We've got a big girl on our hands :-) Mia is already wearing mostly 6 - 9 month clothes, partly because of her "fluffy" butt (term used to describe cloth diapers). Her Grandma Quinlan sent her a couple outfits for daycare and a worker from the office has offered to give Mia some hand-me-downs. So no worries, Mia will remain well-dressed.

I mentioned to the Doctor that I am still concerned about the dry heaves that Amelia seems to have almost daily. The doctor stated that it could be caused by acid reflux. Before prescribing any sort of medication he decided to put Mia on Soy formula to make sure that Mia wasn't allergic to milk. So Amelia has been on Soy since yesterday and we will need to call the doctor next Wednesday to give him an update. Mia still had dry heaves last night (around 2:00 to 3:00 AM) during her nighttime feeding but she had only been on the formula for a bottle or two by that point.

Poor Mia had four shots to get her current on immunizations. She was a champ though! She was really fussy last night (let's just say Mom has been drinking a LOT of coffee today!) but I'm pretty sure she'll sleep a lot at daycare today because she must be quite tired.

Mia continues to enjoy playing and has been cooing like crazy! It's so amazing to see how fast she has been growing. Joe and I continue to adjust as parents and find that we are getting pretty settled into a routine with our little girl.
